Sunrise Park

Changpo-ri Village has the cozy scenery of a fishing village A school that isn't that large can be seen. It is the Yeongdeok Elementary School Changpo Branch. There are also small rocks by the seashore. It is a fishing village that hasn't been developed. It won't be common to see when there is development.

The village is called Changpo-ri because it has a lot of sweet flags. At the entrance, there is a 200-year-old Chinese Juniper. Behind the village is a 100-year-old bamboo forest. The village has the energy of Mt. Cheonjisan. Behind the village hill, a reed forest is being formed to film movies and become a provincial park. The village was designated as the most beautiful fishing village in April. Why April? Probably because the scenery of Sunrise Park is brightest then. This place is also where people who finished the 2-hour 'East Coast Moonlight Hike' come to have a drink and eat local specialty foods.

Changpomal Lighthouse at Sunrise Park looks like the claw of a snow crab. National Route 20 starts in Pohang and runs along the coast to Yeongdeok. You can see the east coast up close. National Route 20 extends behind Gangguhang Port. You can see the Path of Light in Changpo and Sunrise Park. The ocean is full of sunlight and moonlight. The East Sea embraces the two different types of light and has unlimited force. It disperses with the commanding appearance of Yeongdeok's landmark, the Changpomal Lighthouse. When the sun sets, the moon is greeted. Changpomal Lighthouse, the landmark of Changpo-ri, is a symbol of the Yeongdeok coast and stands majestically as a masterpiece. A Yeongdeok snow crab holds up the red beacon light. It has a unique design and a pretty and cozy interior. The scenery around the lighthouse and the scenery of the east coast from the top of the wooden steps relieves all stacked up stress. Have two cathartic experiences, once at the top of the lighthouse and once at the coast at the end of the park's walking trail.

There was a mountain fire in the past. The residents of Yeongdeok used the burnt trees to make stairs and form a walking trail. The trail has an observation deck with a great view, a pergola for rest, fish sculptures and music broadcast with romantic poems. Wildflowers and native plants were used to create a nature education site. It has turned into a tourist site with flowers all year round. Located along the best road for a coastal drive in Korea, this is also the section with the sunrise hiking path and Yeongdeok night time hiking path. It is recognized as the best spot in the east coast.
